CHURCH EXTENSION COMMITTEE

About the Offering:

 

​The Presbytery's 2025 Spring Offering will be benefitting two churches. In 2024, over $70,000 was raised for the building renovation fund Community Presbyterian Church (OPC) of Kalamazoo, Michigan through the generosity of our presbytery churches. This year, the Presbytery is hopeful of raising $50,000 for Christ Covenant Church’s parking lot resurfacing project. All gifts beyond $50,000 or otherwise designated will be given to Ascension Church, our newest church plant.

STEWARDING A BLESSING:

Christ Covenant Church obtained their church building ten years ago. The first church designed by renowned mid-century modern architect Alden B. Dow, Christ Covenant has taken great care of their beautiful building. A few years ago, they explored sealing and striping options for their parking lot but were advised by contractors to pursue a full resurfacing. The project will cost upwards of $80,000-$115,000. The Presbytery’s goal of raising $50,000 through the Spring Offering will help to relieve much of the financial burden of this cost. Christ Covenant desires to steward their building well, and to prioritize the safety of members and visitors—especially in the colder, icier months.​

SPREADING THE GOOD NEWS:

Ascension Church began its ministry in Uptown Grand Rapids, Michigan, in the summer of 2024. Their vision is to be a “worshipping community of Christian disciples joyfully serving God and neighbor.” Every new church plant needs funds to help them become an established ministry in the community. Ascension has been approved as the other recipient of the Presbytery’s Spring Offering. All gifts beyond the $50,000 for Christ Covenant Church (or otherwise designated) will be given to Ascension Church.
